I believe that the government could have prevented the 9/11 attack. They had knowledge that planes could be used as a bomb, and Bill Clinton had an opportunity to kill Osama bin Laden before in the 1990's but he did not. Teresa Wiltz was not right for dismissing the claims either.
I agree with you. I think that they finally made the right decision for owning up for their mistakes at the end. The families of the people that were killed deserve that. Because of our government, we have had much more trouble after 9/11 as well.
ReplyDeleteThat is a very good point Sophia; it was difficult to watch the government during the commission because they did not give the information and apology that the families of the victims and the victims themselves so deserved. There is a point in time when government officials need to step back and look at it from the perspective of the people and admit that they made mistakes and were not prepared.
DeleteI also believe that 9/11 could've been prevented. The amount of miscommunications and lack of effort by the government was disturbing. It is very unfortunate that the events unfolded they way that that did, the outcome could have been a lot less severe than it was and could have even been prevented all together if the government had been more attentive to the threat of a terrorist attack and also increased their airport security.
ReplyDeleteI agree that the government could have done something that could have very possibly prevented the 9/11 attacks. with that said knowing that a plane could be used as a bomb isn't enough evidence to assume these terrorists were going to attack the twin towers and the pentagon. The government tried to kill Osama bin Laden, if you remember they sent missile strikes on a known meeting that he was at yet somehow he survived the strike.
